ATA exam at BP17
On the pre-conference day you will have a chance to pass the certification exam of the American Translators’ Association.
The venue
Hotel Aréna (the conference hotel), 1-3 Ifjúság útja, Budapest 1148, Hungary
The exam room will be announced later, and it will be clearly signposted on the exam day.
You can find the hotel easily by public transport: take metro line 2 from downtown Budapest to ‘Puskás Ferenc stadion’. Take the rear exit by walking left as you leave the train. The hotel is some 100 meters to the right once you reach street level.
The time
The exam will take place between 9 am and noon on Thursday, 4 May, 2017. Make sure you’re in the exam room by 8:30.
The requirements
The exam is organized directly by ATA; BP17 conference only provides the exam sitting venue. You need to be aware of the exam requirements well in advance: you can read these on ATA’s website.
Some of the most important prerequisites include:
You need to be an ATA member for at least 4 weeks prior to the exam
You need to apply for the exam directly at ATA, and pay the exam fee directly to ATA
You’ll need to produce a valid ID to the exam proctor.
