With continuous improvements in machine translation, it’s important for translators to adopt niche specializations and/or offer supplemental services to keep a competitive edge. SEO translations – translations that are optimized for search engines – are growing in demand, and many translators are attracted to this lucrative field. Alas, optimizing foreign language copy requires more than sprinkling translated keywords across the page.
Crafting SEO translations is a balancing act. On the one hand, they need to appeal to machines (search engine algorithms). On the other hand, they must appeal to human readers. In this session, attendees will learn the basics of optimizing translations and what skills they need to bring to the table to succeed in this field. Presented in English with examples in German.
