The scope of Xcreate25

The event will focus on transcreation and its various aspects:

Business: clients, market trends, pricing, marketing, web presence, etc.

Tools of the trade: Old school, software, AI tools, etc.

Various specialisations:  travel, luxury brands, gastronomy, sports, lifestyle, etc.

The main language of the event is English, but presentations in other languages are also welcome

Selection process

Submit up to 3 proposals by 9 June 2025, by filling in the firm below.

The proposed sessions and workshops will be included in an anonymous survey (i.e. only the titles and short abtracts will be included). Potential attendees and speaker applicants will vote on these titles.

Shortlisted proposals will be included in a second round of voting, this time with names.

Tips for speakers

It’s a good idea to submit two different proposals (you may submit up to three). Since prospective attendees will vote on the titles and short abstracts, to make sure that the subjects that will make it to the programme are relevant.

We’ll do some serious amount of number crunching, which means a niche subject with a strong  support from 15% of the voters may do better than a generalist subject with a good rating from 50% of the voters.

Votes of prospective speakers will be counted with  a higher weight.

Presentation formats

The event will take place on Zoom, in 30-minute blocks, probably in two simultaneous tracks.

You can apply with any of the following formats:

Short talk (25 minutes)

Long session (50 minutes)

Workshop (90 / 120 / 180 minutes)

All formats include Q&A time.

Compensation

In addition to attending the entire event for free, speakers will get the following benefits:

25′ talks: 75€ store credit that can be used for  future BP event + 1 guest can attend the entire event for free

50′ sessions: 120€ store credit + 2 guests

90′ / 120′ workshops: 150€/180€ payment + 3 guests

180′ workshops: 220€ payment + 4 guests

All speakers will also receive a certificate

Presentations in other languages

Sessions and workshops in languages other than English are welcome — if there’s a good reason to believe there will a sufficient number of attendees at your session.

We’ll take into account attendee preferences (see the form below).

About BP Translation Conferences

BP Translation Conferences started out in 2013 when freelance translator Csaba Bán decided to organize an internation conference for fellow freelance translators.  Our first event, BP14, took place in his home town Budapest.

The conference was a success, and it grew into a series of annual events, each year in a different country in Europe.

From the very start, ‘BP’ stood for ‘Business & Practice’, the two broad areas that define the scope of our events.

Since 2020, we started to organize online events as well.  By now, at over 20 events (online and off combined), we’ve had freelance translators from well over 70 countries around the world.

BP Translation Conferences remain independent, not associated with translators’ association, any other professional association, CAT tool vendor, or government body.

We are determined to create events for freelance translators to share their expertise grow their professional network… and have fun while doing it.
