Day Trip to Wachau
The Wachau is a picturesque valley along the Danube River situated about one hour to the west of Vienna. It is not only part of the UNESCO World Heritage with a unique landscape but also the beginning of the history of Austria with the medieval castles & the baroque Abbey of Melk.
The day trip includes a guided visit to the Monastery of Melk, time for lunch (on your own), boat trip Melk – Dürnstein, walking tour Dürnstein (where Richard Lionheart was held captive).
The boat trip take you through the picturesque Wachau region with its vinyards on the hills, constituting one of the most beautiful stretches of the Danube in its entire course.
