Vienna – Capital of Music
There is no other city in the world where music is so much a part of its history as well as its presence. The imperial court was the natural focus of power, influence and wealth and it was the most talented, most creative and most ambitious that gravitated towards this court and the opportunities, the patronage and the rewards to be found within its sphere. On the other hand it was a matter of pride and aristocratic self-conception to employ only the best. It is therefore not surprising that Vienna, like no other city, can pride itself in having had so many musicians of world renown composing, conducting and performing in Vienna. Follow us in the footsteps of Mozart, Beethoven, and Haydn.
Start: 14:30, Wednesday, 18 April – Albertina square (behind the Opera), at the Memorial
The walking tour will take place even in unfavourable weather conditions
